I am a 21 year law enforcement veteran. I served Onslow County Sheriff’s Office for two years. I am currently serving the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and have done so for the past 19 years. Serving has allowed me to follow my passion and personal mission to help enhance the quality of life in the youth in the community. I am also a member of Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s Cultural Proficiency Education Task Force.
I have been a member of the NCLEWA since 2012 and I have thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship, sisterhood, training and wisdom received from other NCLEWA members. Enjoying all the qualities of that the association have to officer, I decided to run for Vice President. This opportunity is allowing me to serve the association that I love, and have become dedicated to. When I am away from work and volunteering, I love to spend time with my children at the beach and in the Western Carolina Mountains.
Recently, I was selected by Department of the State and the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) to help host a group of international law enforcement leaders from various countries. IVLP is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. Leaders selected to participate in this program are nominated by the staff at U.S. Embassies around the world.
