    Calling all compassionate and caring behavioral health specialists who are looking to partner with a community based service provider offering mental health and substance abuse services where individuals live and work.

    The CORE Crisis Co-Responder Program is the first county-wide Law Enforcement co-responder program in North Carolina, serving Alamance County Sheriff, Burlington Police, Haw River Police, Gibsonville Police, Graham Police, Mebane Police, and Elon Police agencies. One responder is currently embedded with the Burlington Police Department M-F 8am to 5pm and RHA seeks to expand this service until midnight.

    Education:

    • Bachelor Degree (Not Human Services field) & 4+ years full-time experience with population served OR
    • Bachelor Degree (in Human Services field) & 2+ years full-time experience with population served OR
    • Master’s Degree or Higher & 1+ years full-time experience with population served.
    • License, Provisional License, Certificate, Registration, Permit issued by governing board regulating human service profession.

    Desirable Training and Experience

    Graduation from a two-year college with a degree in criminal justice, emergency medical services, fire services management, emergency management or in related field with extensive experience in 911 communications and/or public safety operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Special Requirements

    Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license upon hire.

    Obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification within six of employment.

    Obtain Emergency Police Dispatch Certification within six months of employment.

    Obtain Fire Dispatch Certification within six months of employment.

    Obtain CPR Certification within one year of employment

    Obtain N.C. Division of Criminal Information Certification within one year of employment

    Obtain Public Safety Communicator Certification or its equivalent within one year of employment.

    Graduation from high school and completion of basic law enforcement training; possession of a Basic Law Enforcement Certificate preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Special Requirement

    Before assignment to sworn duties, employees must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license and have completed at least the minimum requirements established by the North Carolina Sheriff's Training and Standards Commission for certified law enforcement officers with prospects of successfully completing the entire certification process within prescribed time frames.
    May require radar and other certifications.
